Artist Bio:
Poser ABM is a self-employed graffiti artist who has been painting murals for over 15 years in Toronto, Ottawa, and abroad. As well as letter-based works, he is also known for his distinctive ‘bunny’ character and architectural style murals.
Artist Statement:
“My name is Eric Kristmanson, and I am a classically trained artist and contemporary muralist with over a decade of experience painting large scale murals often featuring cityscape themes, classical architectural stylings and iconic character design. I enjoy integrating the built and natural environment into a coherent and engaging visual panorama. My art is mainly in public spaces, adding to the city’s visual culture and local community. I have extensive experience with both indoor and outdoor commissions and I have painted numerous engagements both locally and internationally, representing and celebrating Toronto and Canada’s visual history with my works.
I am honoured to have been selected to create another work for the Danforth community and this design celebrates the local heritage, architecturally and through visual feel. As a sister work to the mural from 2020, this piece will also feature exciting colours, an engaging design with a perspective of the viewer looking down Danforth Avenue itself, and many iconic local architectural features. It will highlight the beauty and excitement of the area and the community’s strong visual culture. Thank you for the opportunity and experience. I am excited to create another iconic work to celebrate and immortalize this beautiful Toronto borough.”
